What We Install
The Brain: UniFi Dream Machine Pro
Every UniFi system starts with a central controller. The Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro) is an all-in-one unit that handles:
- Your internet connection (router and firewall)
- Network management for all connected devices
- Security camera recording (built-in NVR with hard drive bay)
- Remote access so you can check in from anywhere
It’s a single 1U rack-mount device that replaces your ISP’s dodgy router and any separate NVR boxes. One device. One point of management.
We pair it with a surveillance-grade hard drive (typically WD Purple) so your camera footage is stored locally in your home — not on someone else’s server.
The Power: PoE Switch
Power over Ethernet (PoE) is what makes modern installations clean and reliable. Instead of running power cables to every camera and access point, we run a single ethernet cable that delivers both data and power.
The UniFi Switch Lite 16 PoE gives us 8 powered ports — more than enough for cameras, access points, and future expansion. It’s silent (no fans), compact, and mounts neatly in a small cabinet.
The WiFi: UniFi Access Points
Forget trying to stretch a single router to cover your whole house. We install dedicated access points in the ceiling or on walls, positioned for optimal coverage.
For most homes, we recommend the UniFi U6 Pro — a WiFi 6 access point that handles hundreds of devices without breaking a sweat. For a typical 300-500m² home, two access points provide seamless coverage everywhere, including outdoor areas.
The result? No dead zones. No dropouts. Fast, reliable WiFi in every room.
Security: UniFi Protect Cameras
Our go-to camera is the UniFi G4 Bullet or G6 Turret which has built in AI capabilities. It’s the same camera you’ll see on commercial buildings, shopping centres, and office blocks.
